 Reading

If possible, you should be listening to your child read a book - appropriate to their current phonic knowledge - at least three times a week. On OxfordOwl, you can find a free eLibrary with a variety of books appropriate for ages 4-5, across phonics phases 2 and 3. You can also categorise books into the different coloured bands. Reception children start on lilac, move to pink, red, and then yellow.

Please follow the link above and click "My Class Login" (it's a pink button at the top of the page) and use the following login information to access a wide variety of free eBooks:

Ash Class - Username: grimesash Password: grimesash

Beech Class - Username: leahybeech Password: leahybeech

Cedar Class - Username: thornleycedar Password: thornleycedar

You should choose ONE book per week. Do not choose a new book until your child has read it at least 3 times. Thank you very much!

 Writing

Every Friday, we will be recording a video of a different story. These will go public around 10am each week. In the description of every video, you will find some writing activities related to the story. The activities will be pitched at varying levels of ability, so please choose only one activity to try per video. Thank you very much!

 Literacy

Please follow the links for weekly Literacy plans. Included in each weeks link, there will be helpful documents, downloads and games to help you and your child.
